I am deviating from my normal posting today. I am writing about a free service called Intense Debate. If you have a blog and you wish to have the best comment tracking system available, then you have to get Intense Debate.
It is not your plain vanilla commenting system. It will allow you to track others’ comments and they can also track yours. You will also be notified every time they make a comment. You can setup a profile with an Avatar (Gravatars are supported). In your profile, you have the ability to leave a brief summary about yourself, links to your blogs, links to profiles on other sites you are part of like LinkedIn, Facebook, MySpace, etc. There is a reputation system whereby your reputation score is based on the quantity and quality of your comments. The better the score, the higher you rank, the higher you move up the comment system food chain. For an example of what the drop down menu of your profile looks like, take a look at the picture of my profile. You can see the summary up top, followed by four of my blogs, and finally a list of my profiles on other networks.
Intense Debate is easy to integrate into your current blog and simple to configure. The staff there is wonderful to work with if you have questions, concerns, or the occasional issue. I highly recommend integrating it into your blog. If you do not have a blog, I still suggest that you create a profile on Intense Debate and use it when commenting. It is a wonderful self marketing tool.
