I have finished Play to Win in Business and Life from Trump University. As with the previous Trump University audio book I recently completed, The Entrepreneur’s Success Code, it was in interview format.

The information source from the interview was Les Hewitt. Mr. Hewitt is known from his book, The Power of Focus, which he co-authored with Jack Canfield and Victor Hansen. He has been an entrepreneur for 25 years and a performance coach.

As I have described before, I typically garner one or two main themes from each text I read, audio I listen to, or video I watch. So, what did I garner from this audio book? Superbowl. Mr. Hewitt does a nice job of tying business to football. In this audio, he describes how businesses need a coach and the team should adhere to plays, so to speak.

As with a trip to the Superbowl, the championship football team needs a definitive goal to work towards. They need various players to fill the positions that they are best in. The team needs an offense and a defense. And they need a championship coach to pull it all together.

Although I do not believe you can parallel everything in football with business, I do believe that high performance teams that work together for a common goal have many things in common and can achieve great things. If your business seems to be going through the daily motions without a clear objective or your team is not performing like a championship team then you should give this audio a listen.
